:D Hi Guys,
Just thought I would check in and see how everyone is. I could be doing better, as I have really overdone it this time. Silly me for thinking that as a 38 year old, that I should be able to walk a lousy 12 mile round trip for medicine that I needed (Insulin Needles.) I made the first 9 miles and then couldn't go any further, you know, all the usual Congestive Heart Failure Stuff, SOB, Chest Pains, Leg Swelling and Pain, Coughing and chest congestion. I swear, I must be in some kind of Denial or something, because I also tried to ride my bicycle (didn't get very far) and swimming (not very tolerant of that anymore either, except for Bouey Triouts-aka floating-LOL), I guess I should back off on being so gung-ho about trying to still do what I have a tough time doing now, but hey, if it's one thing that cannot be taken away from me is my sense of humor-Gosh, I would be lost without that, bad as it is, it's still MINE I Tell You!!! MINE :D :D :D I hope everyone is doing swell (not the physical swell either...lol) and at peace and just enjoying life as I am no matter what. Well, Just Thought I would Rile you guys up a little, and say hello, so I will say goodnight and talk with you guys again soon...Harrybaby... :) :D :) :D :D :D :D

Harry, I can just picture it! What were you thinking. Were you a Marine - gung ho! Well, one thing going for you is your body. It just plain rebelled on you, didn't it? As long as it talks back to you, you will be fine. We all tried some of what you are doing and got lessons on what to/not to do - from our body. Hang in - and tell us of your next exploit. We'll put it in the book of things not to do. teehee :D

Well alrighty then, another nutjob on the loose. We are multiplying like rabbits! Glad to hear from you and other then being a stubborn cuss, sounds like things are going fairly normal (well at least my kind of normal). Enjoy yourself with something relaxing for a change, say like fishing or bikini watching or..........the possibilities are endless. :D

Hi Gals and Guys....

Hi Gals and Guys....

Well, let's see...yes, I have slammed myself in the head for doing such a foolish thing like walking that distance, and I won't do it again...I did have a really bad week though as I have found that having to travel 100 miles to get your brother the treatment he needs because the VA has cut programs is really exhausting and needless. I had to make 4 trips to Vermont from my house (100 mile distance) in 3 days to get my brother in and out of the hospital, because the VA can't seem to regulate his meds properly, and really don't care...Oh, Don't mind me, I am just tired and shouldn't be venting, but it is rediculous as to what you have to do to get your loved one the right treatment that he is entitled too...now it's time for Harrybaby to catch up on his rest....I think I am cured as far as doing anything to the extreme....LOL...and cured of stubborness. lol How are you Hensy and Ross doing? anything going on?? I hope all is well and terriffic....Harrybaby :D :D :D

P.s.!!!

P.s.!!!

No, Hensey, I was not a Marine, I guess I just had to find out how limited I really have become.....Body By: Shottohell Inc. LOL LOL (I wanna have a TShirt Made...LOL)

I think maybe Harry and I are from the same mold... :D We both are nut jobs...one day we will learn. Sometimes I think we expect more from ourselves than others and we think we have something to prove. Oh and we are in of course denial. hehehehe

To late

To late

Between you and an older post from back in april I have laughed more than I have laughed in months. I needed that. I was sure I had sunken so deep into a depression that I could not laugh. I guess it is just my company I am keeping. Oh and as far as stiches go I had non. I had some were my drainage holes were but the incision was super glued shut  for real they called it dermabond.

Hey, Harry things're going good here in NW Fl. Hot as hades, tho -

I haven't tried the tee shirt iron on transfers yet either, but want to one of these days. But if you do it first, let me know how.

VA can be something else, can't it? I have a cousin who goes to VA. They decided his eyelids were droopy, his nose needed fixin. So the gave him an eyelid lift, chopped off the end of his nose and he has a face lift! Go figure. Then I hear a story like yours and wonder.

Isn't It AWWWFUL???

Isn't It AWWWFUL???

Morning Hensy-Errr...Afternoon...lol

I just can't believe how the VA works. It's like they focus on the stupid, irrelevant garbage, and leave the detrimental and dangerous stuff to the outside world. I know my brother was not ready to come out of the hospital, but you just can't convince the docs. I sometimes feel like they take a splinter in the big toe more seriously than they do a serious illness like Bipolar Disorder...As for the Iron On Transfers, I am looking into that....LOL Take Care, Harrybaby :D  :D

The VA is really a wacked out system. I had my father committed by the coroners office a few years back. He is paroniod schizophrinic(how ever you spell it) he was a danger to himself and others. He actually pulled a knife on me thinking I was gonna kill him. Well within 72 hours they let him walk out of the hospital. Without meds. never called anyone to come get him or nothing just walk out onto the street and the hospital was over 100 miles from his home. Well guess what he has never been seen again and it has been 3 years. So it is bad all over. I saw a special on dateline a few months ago about the treatment and conditions of the VA hospitals and it was terriable. May me decide I would never if at all possiable send anyone I loved there again. Yeah it was that bad. The OR's we very primitive and very unclean.

and

and

I forgot he also had skin cancer so bad on his nose that more than half of his nose was missing. I mean just a big bloody hole in his face and they would even keep him and treat him for that even. That should tell you the shape he was in and incapbable of making his own decisions that he was letting cancer eat his face away and they let him walk out on the streets.

Wow! It's No Wonder You Have All These Medical Problems....

Wow! It's No Wonder You Have All These Medical Problems....

April,
You poor thing! It's no wonder you have had a stroke and a heart attack, and at such a young age too. I saw by your profile that your a June Baby just like me (I am the 17th), so you were right when you said you thought we came from the same mold.LOL Well, anyway, I went out with my brother to kick around for something to do, and let me tell you, he was not feeling right, and I could tell, so therefore, I am gonna call the VA in the morning and chew them out. My brother was just diagnosed with Schizofrenia and I just don't know how to deal with it, and because those SOB's (and I DO NOT MEAN SHORT OF BREATH'S) don't want to get him the fudiciary that he needs, so I have the added stress of doing his bills...I told his so-called case worker (the one who told me it would be better if I did his money) that if it caused me to have more chest pains, I would be putting him back in the hospital and he would be getting the documentation that he needs to put my brother back in the guardianship of the state. I think we should ALL protest the VA!!!! OOPS! I told myself I wasn't gonna vent-sorry. Harrybaby666

First happy late birthday. We are just a week apart plus a few years. No wonder I understand your sense of humor  . Yeah the VA is worse than the teaching hospitals. Maybe if you have a teaching hospital around your area you should check into it. I wish you all the luck. I found though that if you are kind and don't push any blame no matter who you blame for the problem they will listen to you. Try a different approach and see if you can get somewhere. Check your area talk to his social worker someone at the disability office if he is on it. Your local Mental Health office. The state has a local run Mental Health office here. Call anyone and everone you can think of in the medical or mental health field just to ask. They may not can help you but they may give you a direction to go in. I will do some searching for you what exact area are you in.

Thanks A Bunch!!!

Thanks A Bunch!!!

Hi April,
First Of All, back to you, Happy Belated Birthday, You Fellow Junebug YOU!!! :D  :D
Second of all, We do have a teaching hospital in New Hampshire, It's in Lebanon, NH, and it's called Dartmouth-Hitchcock, and it's part of Dartmouth College. I just had my kidney(s) operated on up there and let me tell you, it was hell, but they did a wonderful job. I have to interject something in here: KIDNEY SURGERY IS EVERY BIT AS BAD AS HEART SURGERY... I got so depressed the first week I was home, I just went into the bathroom and cried and cried. The docs said that it was because of the surgery my defenses were down, and I truely believe that one. Well, anyway, Just to show you how good this hospital is, I cannot count the amount of doctors that I had hovering over me while I was in (I think I had 8!!!) so there are some good hospitals here in NH, just not in the town I live in (Rochester-or as I named it-Rottenchester) As for the other stuff, the mental health agency that I am a client at is really bad, but its all I have where I am on Medicaid. The State needs to overhaul the staff as they just don't care except for getting that Medicaid $$ (Surprise...Surprise!!! LOL) I hope things are much better in your area. Meanwhile, thanks for the support, and I hope your taking it easy on your body. :D :D :D :D

I am afraid the Mental Health here is the same. The stink, but better than nothing. I tried to get them to help me commit my dad, the doctor wrote in his report that he was fine and mentaly sane. After he had already been diagnosed as a schizod go figure. Sometimes private doctors will accept medicad. Call around and see if there is one that will except it.

Harry and April

Hi Ticktock!

Hi Ticktock!

Hi There Ticktock,
Yes, we do try and have a sense of humor on here as I feel that it helps with dealing with our heart issues and besides, I like to laugh and have fun (I think it's the Gemini in me--my mother has the exact same personality as I do-and she's a Gemini also, so I think it rubbed off onto me--Careful, I bruise easily...LOL). I also seem to feel that it helps me try and keep my mind off of all the chronic pain I have (and hopefully others as well). Sooooooo all I can say is keep on striving to crack people up (not literally-LOL). Hope you keep laughing with us. Take Care, Harrybaby666 :D :D :D :D :D :D :D  :D

Harry
Somehow it figures that I am a Gemini TOO! ahahhahaha....... Sometimes I'm me, sometimes I'm my evil twin!
