Just wanted to let you all know - I scheduled Monday, 11/17 for my AVR.

It's a small world - I talked today with a cardiac surgery nurse who happens to be one of my wife's best childhood friends. She was excited at my selection of surgeon (she said he was 'gifted'), and was big on tissue valves. She had a lot of other advice (including choices for anesthesiologist and CRNA). AND she promised to be there to yank the tube immediately.

Hi Kenny,

Wishing you all the best on your forthcoming surgery.

Lived in the Memphis area for 4 years. Returned to IL last year. Where are you having your surgery?

Will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks for your prayers, Gina.

I live outside Chattanooga and I will be using Memorial Hospital. They also sponsor the Chattanooga Heart Institute. I was surprised because of the small size of our city that such an advanced array of heart services is available.

Hey Kenny,
I want to wish you all the best on your upcoming surgery.
You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Take Care

Dave

Kenny:

Best wishes for a speedy, uneventful recovery. Thanksgiving Day will be more special this year to you and your family.

And just think of the array of wonderful holiday foods to tempt an appetite that will probably be dulled by surgery. There'll surely be something you'll like.:D :D :D

Good Morning, Kenny

A wise, and scary decision. You have everything good going for you. I'm sure you'll be fine.....it's always nice to know someone with the inside scoop.....You'll be home eating turkey for Thanksgiving.....and you'll have lots to be thankful for.

Glad to hear that you'll be climbing that ole' mountain soon!:)
I have been following your other thread and it sounds like you've got a good group of friends and co-workers who will be around to lend support as needed.
Now, take a deep breath and relax....you are going to be fine!
I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers!:)

Congrats on setting the date. It's always nice to "know" the people who will be working on you, especially the one who will be there to pull the tube. I'm sure you will do fine. We will all keep you in our thoughts that day!
