I know I am prejudiced-this is a series of Ellie pictures taken by my daughter. What I am showing is the last in the series. This is Ellie's first day of going out into the ocean with her Daddy. I bet it won't be the last! I have copied some of the pictures in my blog. If you click on them they will enlarge. This is an example of a Father-Daughter relationship at it's best, I think.

Ross-your comment is "on the money". My word cute is a good generic description, but what really comes through these pictures is the absolute joy and energy a kid can experience.

And I told Joe this morning that--if people ran for the office of "Dad of the year", his campaign pictures are ready. Many of you remember he missed Ellie's birth because he was deployed to Iraq at that time. They were living in North Carolina at back then, and Joe was able to come home for 10 days to see his new baby girl.

During those 10 days, the one thing Joe wanted to do for himself was to drive to the coast, rent a surfboard, and paddle far into the ocean to experience the quiet. I wonder what thoughts were going through his hesd yesterday?
