I am so pleased with my latest experience with QAS.

Last year, I bought them through Raytel, who is in network with United Healthcare for DME. However, Raytel submitted the paperwork as DME miscellaneous supplies, so UHC wouldn't pay because my employer's contract doesn't cover PT/INR miscellaneous supplies, only the tester unit.
It seemed that Raytel didn't ship the supplies as quickly as QAS, and both boxes of 25 ProTime 3 cuvettes I got had expiration dates within 6 months of receipt.

So, I called QAS and talked to Shayne. Apparently QAS is a larger dealer of ProTime 3 supplies than Raytel. The supplies were shipped Monday Feb. 12 and I got them Wednesday Feb. 14, and the expiration date is 1/31/2008 --about 11 months out. I am happy!!!

If I want to test every week, I can. If I want to test every 2-3 weeks, I can and won't have to toss some unused cuvettes in the trash.

For those of you with ProTime 3 machines: I once tried to use an unused cuvette one day after the expiration. No can do with ProTime 3.

I may pay more with QAS, but I'm pleased with what I got and the service. And, yes, I paid out of pocket. Just faxed my receipts to get reimbused through my flex spending plan.
