LoriSue

Hi everyone! I want to thank you for your support. I did a lot of thinking today and you will never know how much your input meant to me. I have struggled so much in the last couple of months that my attitude was even starting to decline. I was spiraling into a "victim" attitude. That is certainly not my normal mode of operation. Feeling so crappy certainly can play with a person's mind after a while. With your support and straight up words of wisdom, I am strong again and ready to take hold of the reins again and push for what is best for me. I want my life back and I am going to be the one to get it. I just got a great job that I absolutely love after 6 years of struggling in college and have a great family with wedding plans in June and I WILL NOT give that up just because I am too wimpy to stick up for myself! Your responses help me feel confident enough to seek the PROPER medical care that is necessary at this point. Thank you guys ever so much and I can only hope that in the future I can somehow return the favor and offer some form of support to you all.
Incidently, I spent a lot of time searching today and found a cardiologist close to me in Portland Oregon that specializes in Adult congenital heart disorders (specifically Bicuspid Aortics) and am going to pursue an evaluation there.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

All we ask is that you return to help someone else that is new to all of this and as scared as you once were.

June wedding huh? I hear the 7th is a wonderful day for weddings. :D

Hi LoriSue-

I LOVED your post. It sounds strong and in charge. I see help just around the corner.

Congratulations.

Yeah! You Go Girl... Keep us informed how things are going. I have much confidence the more educated doctors (on this condition) that you have found will take you seriously with this re-claimed confidence.

Self-doubt is very unsettling when you are used to being confident and in-charge which you sound very much so.

My 6 month check-up is Wednesday I plan to be more assertive as well.

Keep us informed and stay strong!

Yeah!!!! Way to go LoriSue. Keep that attitude going. And when you feel some discouragement - we'll give you a boost!

Keep the self-impowerment going!

Lorisue, you are in the right frame of mind now! The members on this board are really supportive and have so much knowledge about valve problems. If you need help all you have to do is ask. Good Luck at your Dr appt and of course, BEST Wishes on your wedding.

As Bethanne said, You go girl!!!

Isn't the computer age wonderful??? Just think where we all would have been 15-20+ years ago? Still in the dark and unempowered about our health!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And ditto to what Ross said: All we ask is that you return to help someone else that is new to all of this and as scared as you once were.
