Just wanted to wish everybody happy holidays, it being Christmas Eve and all. I particularly want to express my appreciation for this Coumadin forum, and to Al Lodwick in particular.
Without this forum, and especially Al, I don't think I would have known the issues to bring up with my surgeon. I wouldn't have heard of HIT (heparin induced thrombocytenia) let alone known how to spell or pronounce it!
My surgeon has ordered a consult with a hematologist.
I was just talking to my surgeon's nurse and she said she was sending the blood test form out to the lab. An unusual blood test request, she said! She said she's never seen one quite like that before. I feel so much better knowing these issues are being addressed ahead of time.
