Has anyone undergone the test where they put the camera down your throat to check your stomach etc? Is this the same as the TEE which I had before the surgery? Do you have to go off the coumadin to do this? I have seen where the colon tests were addressed but no this one. Thanks,

My husband helps with endoscopies, and he says they usually take you off the coumadin for the procedure.

I had an EGD (esophageal-gastro-duodenoscopy) just a few weeks ago. The procedure is very similar to a TEE. You swallow a tube with a light and camera built into it. I was given Versed and Fentyl and next thing I knew it was over. It was for a follow-up for a bleeding ulcer and I was not taken off coumadin for the procedure.
