A year ago in December I ordered test strips from QAS and had to pay for them and then turn in the bill to BC/BS for reimbursement. A week after I ordered in 2006, QAS got an agreement in place with BC/BS so that when I ordered last Fall (2007), QAS said they would take care of getting the money from BC/BS.
In December 2007, I started getting bills from QAS for the full amount of the test strips. I called BC/BS because they had sent me a statement that said I didn't owe anything and they said they would reconsider the claim. In April, I received another bill From QAS and I called BC/BS and they had not done anything with the reconsideration.
Now, BC/BS sent me a statement that says they paid some amount and that the rest is beyond the contracted amount with QAS so I don't owe anything.

Has anyone else had experiences like this from BC/BS?

:mad:Yeah!! I fought this same battle with Anthem(BCBS) for 7 months in 2007, only I was dealing with Raytel, not QAS. I finally said "to hell with it" and went back to getting my INR tests at my PCPs' office.

I spent 25 years selling and servicing group health insurance (Anthem(BCBS) was my largest supplier of coverage) and I knew how to cut thru the BS(not blue shield)....until I ran up against the home self-testing issue.:confused::confused:

At least you guys get something back, I have full health insurance here in Australia and the test strips are not covered. I pay $140.00 for 24 Coagucheck test strips.

Jeff.
