I was just wondering can anyone help me out here, for teh last few days I have been feeling very lightheaded and at times a little short of breath. Mainlyt just very lightheaded though. Could this be from an increase in medication levels in my blood stream? I have been feeling suprisingly good now since adding on the cardizem cd to digoxin and toprol.. normal heart rate,
normal bp, much decreased tiredness and SOB but now this lightheaded, dizzy
feeling that follows me everywhere and really starting to bother me. I can't win!!!! -- ahhh!!!

Anyways any suggestions??

call me dizzy izzy, Erica

Erica,
Call your doctor! And if it gets worse before you see him, go to the ER.

Hey Erica,
I am with Karlynn, call you Dr., it could be a number of things happening. Be on the safe side and make that call.
Let us know what you find out. I hope it all turns out OK for you.

I agree. Go see your doctor/cardiologist for a professional opinion. If it makes you feel a little better, I noticed some dizziness when I was on the Toprol XL after my surgery. The medication apparently time-releases throughout the day and it seemed as though I had 2-3 episodes per day.

As I have been gradually weened off the medication, the dizziness went away.

Cardizem can cause dizziness (calcium channel blocker) as can Toprol (beta blocker). You need to talk to your doctor ASAP about this. Dizziness can be caused by lots of things that may or may not be related to medications or your heart condition. I take Toprol and get dizzy spells if I'm sitting down or squatting and get up to quickly. I think it's from my bp being lower than I'm used to, but only your doctor can tell you if that's what is happening (and it could be dangerously low...I take mine daily...more on rehab days).
