My cardio is sending me for a TEE on 7/5. I'm glad he is so that we can hopefully confirm that I'm really in good shape. My June echo was better than my May echo. Instead of mild/moderate mitral regurgitation like the first test, the second echo showed mild regurgitation. BAV is good. Left atrium is 4.3

So, after the TEE no more tests...until the next **** stress/echo.

The only bad news is that my blood pressure, which has been good for several months, is now consistently high again. Darn. My cardio put me on a low dose (10 mg) of lisinopril, which, as I understand, with it being an ACE Inhibitor, it won't make me tired like a beta blocker.

Silly man, I'm moving this to heart talk, but best of luck on the throat tickler. Gotta let us know how it all works out. :)

Thanks, Boss.

Actually, I have gotten a lot of junk mail addressed to Wise S. Smith. Now I know what they meant, since I don't have a middle initial.

I'll let you know the result. Thanks

Kristi,

Thanks for the encouragement. Glad your TEE went well.

Happy shopping! Hope you find an awesome surgeon.

Hi Wise, hope everything goes well for you. The only time I've ever done a TEE was to confirm the rupture the cardio had found on my mitral valve after doing the echo back in 1995. He was sure there was no doubt about it, but when he saw how devastated I was because I would have to cancel my holidays in Scotland, he deicided to do one to be 100% sure. That's why I thought a TEE was only required when the cardio wanted to confirm diagnosis.

Thanks Debora. I believe the reason he's doing the TEE is just to be sure that I'm not in worse shape than he thinks. The May echo showed mild/moderate regurgitation. The June echo showed mild. He doesn't I have anything to be concerned about, but he wants to be sure. That's what I understand the reason to be. He said my atrium was slightly enlarged; he believes that could be due to blood pressure, which has just gotten into the high range again. Hence, I'm taking lisinopril.
