I had my TEE done yesterday and discussed the results with the cardiologist. He told my wife and I that it confirmed the regular echo and gave him a better view of my mitral valve. He stated on a scale of 1-4 (4 being the worst) mine was a 3.5 and that something needed to be done soon. I will meet with a Surgeon on Wed. and also see about arranging a consult with another surgeon somewhere else as my cardiologist indicated that he did not think they would do the surgery locally. Due to my age, condition of the valve and me having Malignant Hyperthermia I think he would prefer that I be at a more specialized facility that would give me the best possibility for repair. That part sounded good to me as I am hoping for the port method versus cracking my sternum. Anyway the proceedure went fairly smooth. Even though they gave me the max amount of happy drugs that they give and said that I would not remember much afterwards, I think they were surprised that I was wide awake and discussing all of the results with the doc and my wife as soon as he pulled out the scope.
