I know that you are anxious to get your AVR and Tricuspid repair over with Diana and I am so glad that you got an earlier date. Our best wishes and prayers will be with you on Friday for a successful surgery and uneventful recovery. I hope you can have someone post for you. Godspeed!

My thoughts and prayers will be with you on Friday for a successful surgery.

Thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts. I went in yesterday for all my pre-op testing and that went well, except that Dayton Heart Hospital caters to the 70+ crowd and they kept making comments about my age. I have given my husband my log in name and password and the website address so that he can post after surgery. My guess is that he will not post until Saturday, since he is not planning on leaving the hospital until later Saturday afternoon. I am so glad that this will be over in a few days!!! Now, if I could just sleep!!! :D

You're just about at the "all I have to do is show up" point. Sleep well tonight.

Wishing you an uneventful surgery and recovery. Looking forward to the followup posts.

Diana,

Good luck tomorrow...prayers and hugs your way! stella

Hi all - since my hubby kept forgetting to post, I finally made it up the stairs and onto the computer. I made it through surgery fine and came home on the Thursday after surgery. From what my family tells me, I was not a good patient on Friday night or Saturday morning since I had a really hard time with the breathing tube. They finally took it out about midnight on Friday and they said that I got better after that. I knew I would have issues with that. Now, my issues are my fingers! I can't seem to write well and my fingers do not want to type either. The surgeon said that there were no issues that he was worried about. They put in a St Jude Valve for the aortic valve and placed a ring around the tricuspid. He said that the mitral valve was very minor and he did not want to mess with it. They also did one bypass, which I do not mind telling you, hurts a LOT worse than my chest does. My leg was a very vivid purple up until late last week. Now it is just a black! From the top of my thigh to the middle of my calf. UGLY! I am walking about 1 1/2 miles a day now and starting to feel better, but still have bad days. I am assuming that this is normal. It is, right? LOL I have my blood drawn every Friday and I see my surgeon again on June 17th!. Hope everyone who has had surgery since mine is doing well and getting better everyday! To all who are scheduled, just in case I do not get up here again soon, good luck and we will see you on the other side of the mountain!!!

Love ya all - thanks for all your prayers and concerns....diana
