So i called the cardiologist who was not comfortable doing angio yesterday, he called my surgeon who has now agreed to the less invasive CT due to my vegitation. This cardiologist has been using CT's on younger and high risk pts for many years. Some surgeons just want angios so this cardiologist is going to hospital to read it and discuss with my surgeon if it will be conclusive enough. Too bad my own cardiologist wont help me. She just agrees with any doctor at that time. So thank god i have someone looking out for me. I will have CT on friday. If all goes well dental will be done within two weeks, and surgery will be scheduled for 2nd week in august. Thanks to all who replied. Felling much better now.

Good for you! I am glad you called and got your surgeon to ok the CT instead of cath. The inverventional cardiologist sounds like a winner, since your own cardiologist doesn't seem very helpful, have you considerred getting rid of her?

Ps were you able to find out if the surgeon has much experience doing valve replacemnts on people with BE?

She is the only cardiologist in my medical grp, but I am talking with my primary and my insurance co. to see what options I may have. She has been like this from diagnosis 1 1/2 yrs ago. My husband has never liked her and i should have trusted his intuition. Off to the dentist will check in later.
