So I got hooked into the world wide web this afternoon at the local hospital where I went for my cardiac rehab last summer....
I'm on hour 9 of a 24 hour holter monitor. I have a little diary type thing here to write down stuff like when I eat, when I take my meds, when I feel my heart leap out of my chest and dance around on the floor before hopping back in...
Granted, that last one hasn't happened just yet, most likely won't until AFTER the leads have been disconnected of course!
Anyways, I'm at work right now with all kinds of cool wires running into a box in a pouch hanging underneath my right arm.
No, I am NOT a terrorist thankyouverymuch!!!
On the back page of the "diary" booklet I got there's a ist of things to include in the diary. When you eat, when you take your meds, any unusual feelings or sensations in your chest, etc.
5th one on the list is sexual intercourse.
8th is smoking a cigarette...
I told my wife I had decided to pick up smoking just for the occassion as the nurse was wiring me up this afternoon.
She wasn't amused.
Afterwards we went over to the blood draw clinic for a battery of tests my cardiologist wanted done because they haven't been done in a while. No biggie, except on the way out the door, after helping my wife and my son through, I put my thumb back over the bandage where the blood was drawn from and it just oozed blood all over the place. Whoops! I tried to go back inside, however my son had decided to lock the door as we were walking out.
WHOOPS!!!
So there I was, bleeding profusely (well, no) knocking on a window of the building until one of the phlebotimists came out to see what was going on...
My wife told me I should have just gone over to the ER in the hospital and have them rebandage me....
There's a $50 co-pay for ER visits, I wasn't about to walk into an ER just for a friggin' band-aid!!!
Waiting for results now.
MAN this thing itches like you wouldn't BELIEVE!!!!!!
Oh yeah, neglected to mention that the nurse that wired me up (she and I've gotten to know each other some through the rehab program) allowed my son to help out. He was counting out the leads for her, then helping to apply tape to my chest and giving me instructions on what I could and could not do while wired up...
Then he asked the "vampire" (I knew her pretty well too) if he could help draw my blood...
