I am now about 9 weeks post op. I'm feeling fine and doing well. I went back to work at 5 weeks post op. I'm working out with weights, walking and am even doing a bit of light jogging. I keep having this nagging ticking sensation in my throat though. I had a somewhat similar sensation for about two years before my surgery that drove me crazy and caused me to cough alot. I saw my cardiologoist and each time that I mentioned it, he said it was probably nothing until this year when echo tech looked at my heart from a different angle and discovered a large aneurysm that was repaired about a month later. I then learned from the internet that this can be a symptom of an aneurysm. So now that I'm post op, I expected that I wouldn't feel this anymore and yet here it is again. Unfortunately it is difficult to describe but it sort of feels like there is a fullness near the top of the sternum that causes a tickle in my trachea. Has anyone else had a similar sensation? Thanks.

Hi Joe,

I am 9 days post op and have the same thing. I asked the DR about it and he said sometimes that happens because of the intubation tube. I still have a large lump though at the top of my scar. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.
