A new gathering will be scheduled, centered once again around the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre, Schaumburg IL...

...since I have invested the NON-REFUNDABLE $30 to hold the reservations.
The $30 I have already paid will serve to pay the cost of entry, $6 per person, for the first FOUR people to see me the day of the gathering. In other words, the first 4 people to see me the day of the event will enter LEGOLAND for FREE (you'll still have to pay for food).
The cost of entry will REMAIN THE SAME. The GROUP RATE is $6 per person. This rate is ONE THIRD of the NORMAL rate of $19 per person. I will collect money DAY OF the event, as I will have to pay the money in full at the time we arrive.
Now is your chance to "speak up" if you are interested in such a Chicagoland gathering. Please review the 6 queries below and post your replies. I will tally the responses from ValveReplacement and Adult Congenital Heart Association members; then, based on the results, will start a NEW thread with the NEW gathering information....
1 = What 2009 SATURDAY date is best for you?

(most appropriate, since this is mostly a HEART gathering....)

(This would be around the 32nd anniversary of my 1st OHS in 1977. My 22nd anniversary of my 2nd OHS is in March; my 6th anniversary of my 3rd OHS was January 6, 2009.)
2 = Is it OK if I invite other groups to join us?
This would help ensure we have enough people attending...and, if we opt to collect a donation, may assist us in raising money.
3 = Would you like lunch at LEGOLAND added to our afternoon activities (meeting at LEGOLAND around 11a or noon)?
LEGOLAND offers a "Meal Deal" for $5 per person. This would raise the cost from $6 to $11 per person ... still WELL BELOW the normal $19 per person rate for ONLY entrance into LEGOLAND. The "Meal Deal" includes pizza or hotdogs or sandwiches (turkey or ham), chips and a drink. Since only one main entree can be selected, my suggestion is pizza....
4 = Are you interested in keeping our original plan to eat dinner at Big Bowl...

5 = Do you want to make a donation to be split between ValveReplacement and the Adult Congenital Heart Association?
If so, I would collect $10 from everyone (if we go with the "tour" only) or $15 from everyone if we opt to include the "Meal Deal".
6 = Should we plan at least one other gathering in 2009?
A possible activity for 2009 is a Hot Air Balloon ride (suggested by VR's Lorraine). I've wanted to enjoy a Hot Air Balloon ride ever since a former co-worker of mine showed me some spectacular pictures of the views she has witnessed during her yearly trips to this place in Galena IL:
