I have had this workers compensation thing going on with my hand since last fall and the insurance company sent me to an Independent Medical Examine since we were not getting anywhere here. To make a long story short, after the examination and xrays, he feels that the only long term thing would be to do surgery. There is no space on the right or left sides of my thumb. We are bone on bone and this is what the pain is from if I use it in a certain way. I did have the sternum wires taken out after the initial surgery by the Cardiac surgeon but this is something completely different. He knew what he was doing as far as the coumadin. If it comes to this, should I insist on bridging therapy for the coumadin. How do I approach this and am I using the correct terms.? I don't want to take a chance of a clot with the mechanical. I would think in the Chicago area that they would be aware of all this. They have tried cortisone shots and Vioxx with no success so this is the only option. Any help would be appreciated,
