I wasn't sure where to put this but it does pertain to surgery and coumadin. I had an appointment with the Orthopedic hand surgeon yesterday and I am going to have the carpal tunnel release done on my left hand . Had the right done last year and an incisional hernia done by the Cardiac Surgeon who had me go off the coumadin 4 days prior to the surgery. The Orthopedic Doc is going to admit me 3 days prior and do the Heparin drip which I agree with. The Cardiac surgeon is great but there is big difference in the coumadin issue. The Cardiac Doc did all the orders for the last one since both were being done at the same. I sure do feel a lot safer this way. The Case manager from the workers compensation company was there and actually agreed that it was necessary. Yahoo.

Congratulations--things are going your way.

Hi Birky,

Happy to learn your concerns are being met by your doctors and you are getting the heparin drip you prefer.

Happy to hear your hands are in good hands. Best wishes for your surgery and a speedy recovery.
