Surgery on Tuesday...

Have "tissue matching" tomorrow, whats that about?? I am having a bovine valve replacement of the Aortic Valve, and a Dacron Ascending Aorta graft. Why would they need to do a tissue match?

Never heard of that. I have a porcine tissue valve and nothing like that was mentioned to me. Best of luck!

I never heard of this before Googling it, but apparently some health conditions such as type 2 diabetes lead to faster deterioration of tissue valves. Here's a link to an article I just read.

I have tissue mitral valve and never had any tissue matching procedure/testing.
