Chevy man

Well, its getting down to the time when you start counting the days. Most of the time I feel like I am ready to just come on and lets get it over with, but then other times the old nerves kick in.

I am thankful to have found this site. Reading the stories and experiences of others has made the past few weeks somewhat easier to deal with the anticipation of my upcoming surgery.

As the words in a song by Tom Petty go: "The waiting is the hardest part".

Welcome Chevyman!

Welcome Chevyman!

I know this is not your first post, but I don't believe I've welcomed you here yet. You are fortunate in that you found this site in time to ask all the questions you need to. I found it 2 DAYS prior to my mitral valve repair.

Yes... the waiting really is the hardest part. But I imagine the reason you've chosen Alfred E. Newman as you avatar is... because you'd like to take on his attitude as well, right? "What??... Me worry??" I know, easier said than done.

Two weeks before my surgery.. I thought I would get my house in order... get everything prepared for after surgery etc.. but I found myself here in front of the computer most of the time, trying deperately to find answers to all of the questions flying around in my mind regarding what I was about to go through.

Eventually it led me here, where everyone welcomed me and helped me up and over the mountain. We'll do the same for you.

Good Luck, Jean

Thanks Jean!

As I read the many posts from the great people on this site, I find it hard to come up with a question or concern that has not already been addressed and answered many times over. It is very comforting to know that there are so many people on this site that care enough to willingly share there experiences and knowlege to help others deal with such a traumatic experience.

I know that my wife (ladybug), who is also a new member and I will be a long time member of this group and will do our best to give back as much as has already been given to us.

We will definatly keep everyone informed of my progress.

Hi Kelly-

Stay close during the next weeks, and we'll jolly you along till surgery.

It would be unusual not to be nervous.
