Whelp, my surgery day is scheduled. November 25th. As a teacher, this allows me to take the time off between thanksgiving & winter breaks, and be ready to go after school starts up again after the new year. I'm still blogging, and would love for all yall's support. check it out: http://robovalve.wordpress.com/2013/07/31/surgery-day-scheduled/
Back to school next week. Got lots to think about besides heart surgery. I have to figure out how to teach 200 12 year olds science.
My mom is the best; she bought me a juicer because she knows I am trying to be healthy to the max right now. :D

Great for you Anthony. Got the hard part done, the date. Now get everything in order and get it done. You will be so much better after surgery. Keep us updated as the day draws near!

Kim

Congrats Anthony......seems like just yesterday I posted a similar note. I am now over 19 weeks post-op and other than taking my heart related medications...life is pretty much back to my pre-surgery routine. Good Luck!

Hi Anthony - keeping busy will definitely help pass the time leading up to surgery. I am a teacher also and am now a little over 2 weeks post op and feeling good. We don't go back to school here until September - in fact my first day of school is almost exactly at my 6 week post op. I am planning to go back to work as scheduled but I am a little anxious about being able to keep up - as you know teaching can be a physically demanding job and at least right now I still need lots of naps. Best of luck with the new school year and the upcoming surgery!
