Well, I went in for my pre-op exam and lab work today. I have an asymptomatic bladder infection. They have moved my date to 6/18 and put me on a weeks worth of antibiotics to clear up the infection.

Angie :( :( :(

Curveball

Curveball

Hello Angie, sorry to hear about this curveball. It has happened to several of us here, and it's usually at the last minute, after you've gotten your mind all set on a certain date.

However, it's good that they caught it now - which, when you think about it, is kind of the whole point. Still no fun to have the rug jerked out like that.

Get yourself all fixed up, and you'll sail right through.

What Johnny said is the honest truth. You certainly don't want to go into this half ill, so take it as something that was meant to be and don't rush it. :)

Extra time to shop

Extra time to shop

This may seem like a setback, but like the guys say - you DON'T want to go into this with an infection. So kick back and go shopping. I'm sure you can find stuff you need with your extra week of presurgery: really nice lounging pajamas (something really silky will make your incision feel better); a couple seasons of the "Sopranos"; a massage. Oh, I can think of LOTS of ways to "spend" the extra time.

I know how you feel - My cardio told me I'd have surgery one date, and the surgeon wanted to delay for 10 days so I'd be in better shape with some heart medicine in me. I resented it in one way, and put it to very good use in others. Overall, I think it was best. I had a very good result, so it must have been right.

Hope you feel better, and do enjoy yourself for the next week.

Shopping??? Did Someone Mention Shopping?

Shopping??? Did Someone Mention Shopping?

I took your advice Georgia.... I was out all day running errands and SHOPPING!!! More Shopping planned for tomorrow. :D :D

Like you all said, and I have believed this all my life, things happen for a reason. So I'm going with the flow and getting some last minute things taken care of.

Angie,
I caught a cold just before my surgery date and the postponed it for almost six weeks.
But then when I had the surgery it all went absolutely perfect!!
So maybe there was a higher up reason for the delay.
