I saw the Surgeon yesterday and He was very upbeat about my operation!
He said I had a 95% chance of NOT having and major complications :).
Believe me that was the good news I really wanted to hear. Now maybe
I can clam down a bit. (The last few week I have been so jumpy and
nervous I was driving Michelle (my wife) out of the house).

The date of the surgery is set for the 13th of February so that means
I'll be spending my birthday (the 17th) in the hospital :-( .

Between now and the surgery I have to get some dental work done
as the Doctors don't want any infection to harm the new valve.

Marty

P.S. I found a great way for friends and relatives to keep up with what'
happening. It's a free bloger site at www.justblogme.com.

Good luck with everything! It's an experience that I liken more to an adventure and a positive attitude definitely helps! God bless you and your family.

Hi Marty,

It must be great to be so close to moving to the next room. I know that all will go well and that you will be your new self in no time!! The OHS can't be any worse than the waiting.

You are on my prayer calendar. Keep us posted.

Best to you and yours,

Put you on the calendar for Feb. 13th Marty. Think of it this way- your birthday this year will be the beginning of a happy and healthy new life- a great gift!:D

A NEW Heart for you on Valentine's Day.:) :) ..You will be fine..Get the house ready for your homecoming..a recliner, soft flannel P.J.'s..Button down shirts.Weather will be cold..Plan an inside place that you could walk after a few weeks at home........Be nice to your wife..she will be there to care for you.:D Bonnie

Marty,

I had my last surgery on my mother's birthday and my birthday was 3 days later so I was in the hospital for both birthdays. However, surviving was a great birthday present for both my mom and me.

I wish you the same and an easy recovery.

I'm glad that your visit with the surgeon was upbeat. I'm sure your wife will forgive you for being jumpy and cranky. It's a huge big deal, all of this. Makes us all cranky!!

Wishing you all the best. Please keep posting if there's anything this bunch can do for you, you know we'll try!! :)

Marguerite
