Will the chat room director please inform everyone of what time they are expected to be in chat today please?

Thank you,
Seabiscuit

Are you talking to me?:D I guess I'm still it..along with my side buddies, JimL and Dave and Mary and Betty and Christina and James and many other regulars ..Cannot remember Been so long..:p Over the pond, Jan and emma.. and Debra in Brazil......If all agree, ...Let's go back to 5 P.M. EASTERN time..Every Sunday..That gives the Over the Pond members to chat before their bedtime.......We will give it a try today...Bonnie

I am sure you may have a lot of "chatters" today. You know how it is when you can't have or do something; it makes it a lot more desirable. Sunday chat was always taken for granted so some of us only "popped" in occasionally. I always found I was running errands, visiting family, taking a nap, etc., etc., etc. Then, when chat was gone, I missed it.  Go figure.

If I am unable to make it tonight - have a great time and I will hopefully be able to join one soon. It has always been a blast.

We're in there Jim - did you use the new link - its on the other chat thread that Bonnie started today - I don't know how to link it to here though sorry

Hope to see you soon!!

As I've never used a chat line, am I doing something wrong? I missed the 5PM time (had to go out). When I got back at 10PM I logged on as instructed and was told no one was there. I went back several times with the same results. I figured with our Worldly Family I would find someone there, especially since it was now back up and working. Am I doing something wrong??????

May God Bless,

Danny

Danny,
Chat last night in the new chat room was wonderful, with up to a dozen people chatting at once, probably several dozen over all. Chat went longer than usual last night. Normally it starts at 5 EST and ends before 8; I left last night at 9 after four hours of chat. Try next week.

I never expected it to last that long! Last night, I excused myself from Chat so I could get dinner on and eat; then hubby and I went for a long walk. It was 7 o'clock before we returned, and I didn't even check to see if anyone was still in the Chat room.
I hope we can get some longer Chats going. Many Sundays it would be easier for me to pop in an hour later, but I'm afraid I will miss everyone if I do.

What Did I Miss !!!!

What Did I Miss !!!!

We had friends visiting from Ireland so I was unable to get near the PC, We went out to eat and have a drink and never arrived home until 1.30
sounds like I missed a good chat session
lets hope we can all get together next Sunday

There probably wasn't anyone there. I didn't make it to the chat on Sunday either, but have checked out the new chat room...it's much more user friendly than the old one.

Here's my thoughts; While I think it is great that we have a set "chat time" for once a week, we all need to remember that it is possible to chat anytime you want to. Maybe the best thing to do is to either hang out there for awhile or maybe post what time you might be available? I'm not sure...but I think we need to get away from the mindset that chatting is only for Sunday afternoons if we want to use the chat feature to the fullest extent.

It's quite easy to get to now...so maybe we all need to just check in there once in awhile to see if anyone's there.

Excellent point - Chat anytime and all the time.

Thanks Jean,

You are exactly correct. The chat room can be used anytime, and the more often people use it, the more valuable it becomes for all of us.

The ideal situation would be for there to always be a dialoge in progress.

While the forum is excellent - the chat makes you feel like you are actively involved and helps us get to know eachother better.

How about if folks try to pop into the chat room at the top of the hours. That way people will have a better chance of meeting someone there.

Great idea, Hank, about checking at the top of the hour, every hour..:D Then, our night owls, could find someone to chat with.:p ........A small group of us got together over a year ago and wanted to start a group chat. We worked out that Sunday would be the best day of the week.....then, we worked out the time..5 P.M. Eastern time..That would give our over-the pond members to stop by..before bedtime.:) and not let it be TOO early for members on Central..makes it 4 P.M.James from Oregon would be the only one I remember coming on at 3 P.M.( and he was at chat Sunday night)...So, it worked out great..:) ..We started with about 8 regular members..then a few more...........I posted every Sat...Don't forget Sunday Chat..I think it helped..but, If everyone wants to do something else, that's great. :) .... I will still check on Sunday's at 5 P.M to see if anyone is on...but, will not post reminding members....Bonnie
