well, I went, got in, got zapped out, tried to get back in, couldn't, left. I tried.

I wasn't too pleased with the chat room - when you type in something, you don't always get to see it so you don't know if it goes to the others or not! That's not acceptable. The site providers need to fix that or we'll never get it off the ground.

not pleased. Did I say that? Actually, I was really angry with the thing. Our old one was really good. We just clicked on chat and there we were - with all our chatty buds.

Ann was having trouble last night, and has stated the problem well. It is very frustrating when you type a line, press return, and don't see your words on the screen. Where did they go? Most of the time, everyone else sees what you have typed, but how do you know? You have to wait and see if they react to what you just typed. Other times, I didn't see what other people typed. I only know that because there were definite gaps in the conversation. Hopefully, these problems will be fixed before next Sunday evening, as promised.

Hi Folks,

Please keep in mind that there are a lot of things going on in the background. It isn't as simple as it seems.

Also keep in mind that this new chat room is still in it's infancy and for all practical purposes, has not really been born yet.

All of the experiences and input that you all can provide will assist us in making it the best it can be.

The previous chat room was unsecure and did not fit well with the future plans of the site.

Please keep using the current one and providing us you feedback...

I did not have any problems when I was on last week. I wonder if it has to do with individual computer settings and not the chat room itself.

I still think it is much more user friendly and fun than the old one.

A couple of things......Jim and I were alone the first 20 minutes.Before 5 P.m...I played around with him(on computer) I was telling him about my double postings...about every 5 posts..I would get a single post..then I would get 5 double posts from him..and then a single????We discussed my getting a new keyboard, ect....so, when members started showing up ( 12 at one time)..I noticed when I did post a FEW of my posts did not show up..Waited and would get a reply about 3-4 posts later..So, I knew, that my posts had showed up, BUT NOT on my screen......I think?..that when that many people are posting...so fast..that some of our posts get lost in space ...also, Ann..I never saw your name in the box.Users....and I stayed on for about 3 hours.I kelp an eye on the User box..and when the Over the Pond members had to leave..getting late there..their names would disappear.I think last nights chat was great..so many funny things..when you get such a great crowd in...chatting.. ..I still am not sure if it's our computers ( the ones with the problems) are just an overload right now Time will tell...Bonnie

I was BLUE because you were GRAY. . As a newbe I don't have a reference to compare the operation of Chat. Was confusing at times but the wife (who has Chatted on several sites) says that there are sometimes several "conversations" going on at once. I think I missed a few postings too. It may have something to do with our snail mail land line hook-up. Don't know. Hope you are happy and BLUE next Sunday.
