How does the chat work and when are they? It looks like you have to log in to a channel like IRC, but I'm not sure.

After you hit the Chat button, you'll get a screen, type your name in at the top, hit enter, and you'll get taken to the Chat room.
There was a sizeable crowd tonight. Jeannie (Weeky Cat), Deborah, JimL., Dave (fyrfytr), Emma, Jan, Christina, BobH., Harry Baby, Granbonny, and me. I don't know who came on after I left. People come and go throughout. Some are there right at 4; others wander in as late as 6.

The CHAT is 5:00 PM, Eastern Standard Time, every Sunday, although you are welcome to start another at any time that works for you.
If you are on the Home screen stay there a moment. If you're in the forums, click on the big ValveReplacement.Com logo, and it will bring you back to the Home screen.
One of the options displayed is CHAT. Click on CHAT.
When you get to chat, there is a big center box where the postings show up. Right above it is a small box for you to put in your name. Put your cursor in that box. Enter a ONE-WORD name for yourself and press enter.
Right below the big box is the place for you to type in your postings, called the MESSAGE box. Bring your cursor down to it, and type something in (like, "Hi!"). Usually you wind up in the right channel. If you're not in the right channel (i.e. it's the regular chat time, but you don't see anyone), someone will likely pop in to tell you what channel to go to. Let's say it's channel 0. To join it, you would then type "/JOIN 0" and press enter.
Things you type into the Message box will show up in the main box when you press enter. However, don't start your entries with special characters or even periods, as it won't send the line with that starting it.
