Hi Everyone!
I was just reading some of the posts the other day from some of you who have just had surgery. I heard some mention that they have trouble concentrating etc....That is perfectly normal after this type of surgery, but it made me think of something I did when I first came home from the hospital. This may sound silly, but I put this out there. When you first come home, you really don't feel like doing a lot, but you also don't want to just sit around. Your mind is a little foggy. If you like computers, which I do, try playing computer games, internet games etc....It got my mind off of how depressed I was and I also found that it helped with my concentration. It gets your brain working again. I played a lot of Bejeweled. I remember when I was playing this game, how stimulated my brain felt and I believe it helped with some of the fogginess as well as getting my mind off of the pain and depression.

Take Care!

While that may work for some, I still think that looking at this monitor can and will suck your brain out. :D I know when I got home, I wanted to post so bad and was shaking terribly from Ativan withdrawal. I couldn't keep my mind on one thing for more then 2 or 3 minutes. I was all over the place.

Yeah, everyone's recovery is different. When I came home after surgery, I wasn't taking a lot of different meds or coming off of a lot of different meds. The only thing other than toprol and coumadin was darvocet. What works for one may not work for someone else.

Take Care!

Creed...great idea! That's sorta what I did, but I, too, found that sitting at the computer for several hours in a row wasn't a good idea :(. My sis and her bf and a couple other friends helped me pass the time by playing board games with me...that was cool. Of course, visitors always helped! But, sadly enough, I mostly sat and listened to music or watched TV...I was so frustrated that I had "all this time" at home...but didn't feel up to doing much of any of the many projects I have on my "want to do" list.... Heh...ironically, now, I'm back to work...have more energy...but have less time to do those things that I had plenty of time but no energy to do a couple months ago....

Aye...irony rocks :).

Peace...Always,
