Well, my knee replacement surgery has been canceled until the first of the year. I'm having a terrible time getting over this pneumonia. I'm on my third round of antibotics. The cough syrup helps keep me from coughing so hard but it makes me so sleepy. My ortho surgeon wants my lungs to be completely clear before he operates. He scheduled me for December 12 but I called this morning and told him I didn't want to be down over Christmas. It's not like it's a life and death situation like my AVR. I've lived with this pain over a year so it won't hurt to put up with it a little longer.

Thanks again for all your prayers! !

Glenda:

Sorry you've got a delay in relieving your knee pain. However, the first priority is getting over this bout of pneumonia. That's the most important thing.

Hope you get over this nasty ailment PDQ.

Glenda - so sorry, I know you were really looking forward to getting this done. You can start the new year off with me, your new knee and my new valve!! Hope you get to feeling better soon!:(

So sorry you are still ill, Glenda- well now you will be up and about for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but don't over do- getting better is your first priority!

That stinks :( But I agree, you should enjoy the holidays! Feel better soon!!

Glenda-

What a bummer. You certainly don't need this kind of grief. By the time the holidays are over with you should be in tiptop shape for this surgery. Hope the pneumonia gets better soon.

I remember you saying you'd be over it enough to be up and around by Christmas. Well, that worry is over, but you are stuck with the pain. As you say, you have dealt with it a long time. This being Nov, Jan ain't far off....

hi glenda,
we just want you to be well and healthy. hope this pneumonia is fixed soon. third round of antibiotics is a long time, no? hope this time will do it and knock it out of your system.
feel better and then you can worry about the other surgery... first things first.
be well, sylvia

Oh, bummer, Glenda! :( But I do think you are wise to get through this current bout of pneumonia. I wish you the best and I hope you hurry up and get well!

You kind of got me motivated, actually. I've been hobbling around on a sore knee for a month and thought, hey, if she's gonna get hers done before Christmas.....why can't I??? Because of the valve surgery in April, I'm getting insurance payouts at 100% so why would I want to wait??? So I'm going in for an MRI on tuesday. I'm hoping they'll find that something is torn and can be mended orthoscopically, and that he's wrong about the beginning of the wait for knee replacement. I mean...... I just got out of the Waiting Room!!

Please take care of yourself. Let us know when you've kicked this latest bug.

:) Marguerite

Sorry to hear you are still sick. I hope this disappears soon and you can get your surgery, be all over it and back on track to run that John Deere around in the spring.;) :D

Please take care.

It takes a while to get over that nasty pneumonia..
and you want to be in top shape for that new knee!
My mom got her new knee 2 weeks after my heart surgery..and she needed every bit of her strength.

I know that you are disapointed..but it will be better to be Healthy going into that surgery!
