Hello Ross and all you Valvers,
Over the last few months I've seen several discussions regarding doctors ordering stress tests, the treadmill / physical kind.
When the subject came up for my fragile, connective-tissue "challenged" daughter, the answer was to do a chemical stress-test, called a Dobutamine test (i think). It gave the answers (about what her heart could perform) that the doctors wanted without stressing her aorta.
It may not suit all. But the opposite of that is why I'm throwing it out here now tho'!
Of the two cardios we saw, the first was not worried about the treadmill at all, while the second one was aghast that it had even been considered for her and strongly advised against it. He suggested the checmical stress test instead.
