Hello valvers,
I pulled or strained a muscle during an exercise workout I did earlier this week and now I have a 7 inch by 3 inch bruise.Have been resting and icing it ...any advise on how else to treat this? Is it bruised because of a microtear in the muscle? I am on warfarin.
 
In my opinion, you're doing the right thing. ICE, 20 minutes on 20 minutes off for about 4 days.
If you are at all concerned about this bruise best to see your doctor.

Expect it to last for about 3 weeks. My lawnmower had a run-in with me about 3 weeks ago and it's only now there is a very faint yellow tinge at the point of impact.

Thanks for the advise. will do more icing to help with the swelling.Will be awhile before I workout.Dang it.

Ouch! I bet that really hurt...The ice is helping with the pain and inflammation but I expect that I will have to hold off on the workouts for awhile.I will consider getting a PT order to help with this injury. Thanks for sharing your experience
