Stopping coumadin before VR

When did you guys stop taking coumadin before your VR surgery? My surgery is scheduled for the 8th and I go for pre-op on the 5th. Should I wait until then or should I call and ask when I should stop the coumadin?

Your surgeon should be giving you a whole protocol for going off Coumadin. It's done very carefully and precisely, so if you have questions about it, why not call their office and speak to the PA, NP or whomever does the patient interface.

Mine wanted me off 10 days before surgery, but I wasn't in any real danger of stroking either. Your best to check with the surgeon on this one.
