Everyone ( but ME) that shared Thanksgiving Dinner.. has the stomach bug today. Couldn't have been the food, because my son did not eat ( Policemen are well fed on Turkey Day) :p He said, he wasn't hungry that evening....but, he has it the worse.... Thinking he exposed the family..We are a kissin bunch.. :p Hubby is asleep..after just taking some more Pepto-Bismol... :p :p Anyone else out there have it? The BUG  Bonnie

Told you if you tried to poison them it wouldn't work. Should have listened huh? :D

I don't know about the rest of you, but peptobismol is enough to make me sick all by itself.

I figured I was the only one taking rat poison (coumadin) and it killed the nasty little stomach bugs.. :p :p Add it to the list..of why taking coumadin may be good for you.... :p :p Bonnie

Knocking wood very very hard - Nope, no sign of a stomach bug here.

Glad they can't blame your cooking! :)

Are you sure you didn't slip them some of your famous roadkill? They thought it was pate, I bet.

Should have served Martinis with, 'sposed to help kill stomach bugs.

There were several family members that didn't make it to the family Thanksgiving at our house because of the stomach flu. I'm really glad they didn't come and spread it around since I can't get the flu shot. That's all I need around Christmas time. December is such a busy time of the year with church programs, parties, etc. Bonnie I feel the same way about my "Gleevec" that I take for CML. It seems this rat poison also keeps me from getting a lot of things. LOL

HI Bonnie,

Sorry about the family. Yes, our daughter was sent home from school on Tuesday with it :( Good news....it only lasted 24hrs.

Hope everyone is well soon.

"Turkey's Revenge"....

No bugs here. We had a beef pot roast with garlic mashed taters (wife and I LOVE the garlic and I roasted about a dozen cloves, mashed them then tossed 'em in a pot with the potatoes for boiling, in homemade chicken broth, not water, YUMMY!!!!) some assorted veggies and spaghetti squash (my dad bought that, didn't realize what he was getting) along with the obligatory cranberry sauce.

I also dug out the fixings for gingered wonton treats (Gazzaniga's low sodium cookbook recipe) that I had made up and frozen last year and made those up. Yummy yummy appetizer...

Did you get your flu shots????

I can do most medications (including pepto) but my wife can't tolerate most liquid meds. You can also get pepto-bismol in chewable tablets by the way...

Imodium works fairly well as an alternative (liquid or a tiny pill to swallow) and some people prefer Tums with calcium...

If all else fails, white, long grain rice, maybe with a little pat of butter in it.

And for hangovers.........

:p

a few weekends ago, daughter, with horrid intestinal cramps, was delivered to ER and admitted. They gave her morphine when nothing else helped. A week later, same thing. She has appt w/GI specialist. This weekend, brother had a nose bleed that wouldn't stop (he's on coumadin) so we delivered him to ER, too, where they found he was in a-fib. Digoxin levels were low. He was admitted. Maybe he will go home today.

These ER trips are hard on everybody!

Bonny, so sorry to hear that you didn't escape the bug. :( I hope that your INR doesn't swing too much.

Thought we can't take Pepto Bismol when on Coumadin - it has aspirin-type ingredient. There's a drug interaction warning on the bottle for anticoagulants.
