Here I go again on my sternum. I had the 3 wires taken out due to a fracture and in the process of getting my Mom up, something popped. When I move a certain way, it feels like something is sticking me. Got to call the surgeon and have him look at it. Would just let it go but afraid that it would start a bleed somewhere if it rubs. Don't need that. Has anyone had this happen to them?

What did you find out, or rather, have you gone to the doctor yet? It sounds frightening but I sure hope it turns out to be nothing serious! Best wishes!

Waiting for a call back from Cardiologist. If I don't hear from them today, I am going to call and make an appointment with the surgeon that did the surgery. The Cardiologist has their own surgeons so maybe he is going to run it past them. My Mom had a stroke about a month ago and had to help her get up and down. After that something was not right. I am betting that I redid the fracture or have a new one. I thought once I had the surgery it would be smooth sailing. We are trying to stay hospital bills free in 2004. Doesn't look we are going to make it. I will post when I find out. Thanks,

Marcia, Marcia, Marcia (I can't help it; I'm an old - really old - Brady Bunch fan). I'm sorry you're having so much trouble with your incision. I have no advice other than I think you should revert to the 5# limitation on lifting until you have an answer. I just wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you and think that this must feel really icky.

Marcia, I have a good friend who had a mitral valve repair about the same time I had my operation. He had about every type of complication you could have with his incision and sternum. It really bummed him out but he is fine now. The heart surgeons referred him to a plastic surgeon who I think they keep busy. This doctor worked with my friend for months.

My kids were Brady Bunch fans. I even heard Marcia, Marcia, Marcia from the surgeon when they were having problems getting my heartbeat regulated. My Cardio calls me Marcia, Marcia, Marcia the problem child. Thanks to all,

Marcia, Marcia, Marcia:

During my early 20s, I dated someone named Brady. Got a lot of jokes about trying to become Marsha Brady.

I do get called Marsha, Marsha, Marsha here at work.... Was called Marshmallow as a child...

I don't think there is too many Marcia's around these days that are spelled this way.

Haven't called to make an appointment yet. Gotta get this big butt moving and do it today. Even though it hurts, it seems like such a minute thing to worry about. Got a carpal tunnel thing going under Workers Compensation and dealing with that now. Been at this position for 27 years and the hand is wearing out. Never a dull moment in our household. Thanks,
