Had a little heartrate issue, but he came home about noon.:)

With a long list of meds etc.

He looked soooo relieved and happy, and tired as expected.

Has a lift that you put on top of recyliner and shower chair.

Wonderful news. I am wishing him a speedy recovery. Also, make sure he gets his rest. Good luck & God Bless

Called my stepdad and Mom yesterday. He sounded out of breath, had just gone for a walk. He couldn't sleep at all at night, guess lasix still in his system.

He felt his heart racing and my Mom took his BP and pulse, she was concerned pulse up to 150. After he sat awhile went to normal. How high of a pulse before there is a concern of something wrong?

Thanks for idea for pill box.:)

My brother went over there yesterday and got his meds straightened out, he was on many before surgery and they added five more. My Mom was getting confused on the meds so my brother printed out a schedule of am and pm meds.

If he just got done walking, that explains the high heart rate and breathlessness. It's going to take some time before things fall back into place. Now if his heart rate stays that high all the time, call his Cardiologist as he's most likely to be in afib. It's not at all unusual not to be able to sleep. Many of us have chronic insomnia after surgery.

Joe's cardiologists told me that there are several high heart rates that can cause problems, and there are also normal high heart rates that are caused by exertion and when stopping exertion, go back down to a normal rate.

His heart is probably a bit "touchy" after so much poking around and even cutting into it, stands to reason.

It should settle down in time.

Of course, if the heart rate stays high and he is concerned about it, then absolutely call the doctor.

I talked to him today and he seems in good spirits. Said he was able to sleep about 6 hours last night.

Thanks for info on heart rate.
