Im 11 weeks post-op now and have been swinging a golf club for about 2 weeks now and have been lifting weights again for about 4 weeks (light weights, lots of reps). I expected some aches when I started lifting again as my body wasn't used to it, not a big deal. Same goes for when I started swinging a club, I expected some soreness after the fact. However I hit balls on Thursday and when I was done I definitely had more discomfort than normal. Lifting my arm above my head would give me steady pain. Its 36 hrs later and while not AS sore, still sore.

My question is for those that are longer in the tooth regarding recovery. Did you experience muscular pain when you were 10+ weeks post-op ? Everything else for me seems great but Im suprised to have this issue given that Im lifting weights and am back to my normal pre-surgery lifestyle pretty much. Are my expectations too high ? Am I doing too much too soon ?

What hurts? Your pectoral muscle? The muscle originates along the sternum and ribs (and clavicle.) I certainly felt pain there after my surgeries (I'm only 3 weeks out from this last surgery, though.) Are you stretching enough? You probably had quite a few weeks post-op where your muscles weren't being stretched much at all.

I did a little short chipping after 8 weeks and had considerable
swelling in my left breast. Also quite a bit of pain.
My P.A. told me to stop it. My mentor told me to stop it.

I think you might be rushing it. sloooooooooow down!~!~!!!
A lot of healing is still going on.

Yesterday I walked the course while some friends played. I even did a little putting.
I spent some time in the rough and found 21 balls. Some of them were keepers.

A full golf club swing puts a lot of stress on the muscles and joints under "normal" circumstances. I just bought a new driver and immediately went out and hit an X-large bucket of balls for the first time this year. My neck and shoulder were achy for a couple of days after that and I'm two years out. I can imagine how much worse I'd feel if I was only 11 weeks out. Take it easy.
