I guess you remember the "hoopla" I went through in January when I flew to Houston certain that they were going to attempt a 4th OHS.

Then upon getting there, and undergoing an Echo, I was advised by my old time surgeon and the surgeon that was scheduled to do the surgery, against the surgery. They felt that it was much too risky to attempt and the outcome may NOT be to my benefit! Instead they opted to watch me closely and when things get to the point that it's either sure death or the risk of the surgery, making the decision then. They then scheduled me for another Echo within 6 months.

So, I went up for my 6-month Echo about 2 weeks ago, and am pleased to report that there were no significant changes! My PH levels were actually a bit lower, 65% from 73% in January.

I was sent home with another medication, however, Metoprolol 12.5 once a day. The cardio wants to see how well I tolerate it and then increase it slightly as time goes by. I've noticed a bit of dizziness but nothing real significant.

I'm scheduled to go up again in December for another checkup. The cardio said that if everythings looks about the same then, he may extend my visits to once a year! :)

So I'm a pretty happy camper right now. Been pretty busy with our vegetable garden, enjoying each and every day and thanking God for allowing me to still be here! :)

Stay cool, stay safe and enjoy your summer!

Hey Girl :)
That dose of Metoprolol is very low and I bet you will tolerate it just fine. I take between 50--60 mg per day
and have adjusted to it.
If anybody deserves to have a carefree summer, it is YOU. Hugs to you and the furbabies.

What great news and I agree Stable is what we HOPE to hear anymore for Justin's appt. He had his Stress test and MRI 2 weeks ago and his appt last week and we got to hear 'stable' too. Its always a relief.

Thank you very much, Lyn!

I pray for decades and decades of nothing but stable reports for Justin from his doctors! I know that he too is caught in a 'catch 22' and always have him in my prayers!

Salud to both of us! :smile2:

I like garden vegetables:) Great news Jean, steadily stable is the way.

Hey Jeff, if you lived closer, I'd send you some!!!

All my neighbors love me this time of year.....they know that when we have our fill of the veggies, they can expect bags of goodies on their doorsteps! (I just took some zucchini and cucumbers to one of them! :))

Thanks for the well wishes! :)

Njean, we all know you were worried sick over this your heart was breaking. So glad to hear that you are doing well and taking the time to enjoy life.
You are such a inspiration to the young folks here.

Way-to- Go Mom!
Happy, Happy Day :smile2: time for the happy dance.

I got a little dizzy on 12.5 Metoprolol taking it twice a day, must be a side effect. I was taken off that drug about 7 months after surgery.

Hopefully your body will adjust to the metoprolol.

((((hugs))))

Great news Norma!! ... I agree with Bina, that dose should not be a problem ... I'm on about the same dose and don't even notice it!! ... Doing the happy dance for you!!!!
