Its my 6th anniversary today and still feeling good. I've been looking over my finances since both Alice and I are living longer than we anticipated and don't want to outlive our money. At my first visit to my stock broker after surgery I told him to check out St.Jude stock. He contacted his analyst in New York and was advised things looked bad for the company -lots of competition, new competitors coming on, lawsuits, etc. I felt sorry for the company that made my valve and told him to buy at $13.91 for sentimental reasons which he reluctantly did. Today it is trading at $70.95! We may take a trip to France.

Hey Marty,
It is all of us that have had St. Jude valves since you have that have made you all the money :D
I hope you and your wife have a Wonderful Trip.
Take Care and have a Great Weekend.

Marty,
First congratulations on six years. :D
Second I wish we had bought some after my surgery which was over eight years ago.
Who knows,we might have had enough money for a trip around the world.

That is good karma!!!

That is good karma!!!

Marty,

That is so excellent! And on both counts; celebrating your 6 year anniversary of the surgery and then making money on a whimisical and sentimental investment. GOOD WORK!!!!

I hope you take some time to really plan a lovely visit. I know that these days you can actually rent an apartment or a house for quite a while and not spend as much money as you would staying in a major city.

Congratulations!

Marguerite

Boy... Maybe I should pour some money into SJM too....

I've got oil stocks both straight and in mutual funds. Figured that was a safe one, EVERYONE and EVERYTHING uses oil. Too bad Cleveland Clinic wasn't "public"... =)

Was thinking about Google stock too but I didn't want to fuss with the auction thing.
