We can post photos from the Fermilab Spring get-together here -- here are some I took this morning on my bike ride to work:

High_Rise_across_ring.jpg

View of the beamline and the High Rise across the ring -- gives you an idea of the size of the beamline, the high rise is 15 stories...

The bike trail to the dzero experiment ( its the blue building in the background -- I work there )

Great pictures. That is some huge place, isn't it. The high rise looks like a trailer from here. Great self portrait - looks just like you.

Thanks for sharing these beautiful pictures.

Trails and Birds of Fermilab -- Part I. Village Lakes

Trails and Birds of Fermilab -- Part I. Village Lakes

These are some of the sights along the trails and some of the birds that frequent these areas -- we'll do a short walk in the morning and then you are free to explore during the rest of the day.

Click on the images to see a discription of the area:

❥ The Red Barn: We get the canoes from here

❥ Lake Law

❥ A.E. Sea

❥ Sea-of-Evanescense

❥ The Sparrow Hedge: In this area one might get lucky enough to spot this guy:

❥ The Village Pines

Beautiful, beautiful pictures. We have families of eagles at our lake home in the winter. They are so much fun to watch. For such a beautiful bird, I think they always have such a mean look on their face. It's like they are frowning at you.

Trails and Birds of Fermilab -- Part II. Bison Field

Trails and Birds of Fermilab -- Part II. Bison Field

We'll visit the bison sometime in the morning of the 14th -- I hope these are the last hiccups in the weather, has been a bit cold and blustery the past few days -- I will plan out a walk near the bison field to maximize sightseeing and minimize walking...

Click on the images to see a discription of the area:

❥ Bison Wallow

❥ Bison Savannah

❥ Bison Feeders

The names are a bit pretentious -- following good advertising policy -- and hyperbolic... Savannah, GA is a closer relation to this one than savannah africa.

Thanks for appreciating these pictures -- hope that the weather dosent put a damper on our plans now that I have made such a big fuss about them...

Walking with Ishaq: Photos from Fermilab trails:

❥ In search of butterflies and birds in the thicket trail -- glimpsed a pretty intriguingly colored bird but it went by too quickly to identify -- lots of butterflies...

It so fun to hear what comes out of the unpredictable minds of little ones, huh?
