Hey Guys,

Juat wanted to say that I talked to my Pulmonologist and she called in a new script for the Neurontin. She wants me to re-start it at 100mgs and in 7-10 days we'll go up to 200mgs and tehn in 7-10 more days back to 300mgs unless I still feel all these side effects (like the extreme fatigue) then we'll re-assess. I see her in 2 weeks so we'll see then and i'll also talk to her about this feeling sob - i don't breather harder or anything just feel it.

Right about now I feel just aweful. Hurt my ankle yesterday, the tiredness, have bad cramps, have to work tonight, and ooh yeah tired. As well as i have this odd feeling in my right hand like what i always felt with the Carpal Tunnel before I had the surgery 2 years back. And the skipped or extra beats. I must have been a bad bad girl this week cause I sure aint having a good time off it now. I want the weekend over so I can talk to my Dr(s) do something about these stupid skipped beats ankle and all.

Grr.. grr. grr.
No word from Niki yet today.

Erica

You know, I've seen people in here given scrips for neurontin before and I'm not quite sure I'm getting it...

What am I missing?

According to my sources (PDRhealth.com, run by the same folks who generate the Physicians Desk Reference) it's used primarily to treat epileptic seizures and nearve pain from shingles...

Drug info on Neurontin

Just not making the connections here....

Harpoon,

Do you mean you are not sure why people are posting about there using it in here the valvereplacement board or why they are using it in general?

I am on it to treat Periodic Limb Movement Disorder which potentially has to do with nerve problems - it causes repeated frquent arousals during the night
that I and most other PMLD sufferers am not aware off but completely disturb getting a good nights solid sleep. It is also used off the label in RLS - Restless Leg Syndrome.

I know my post wasnt anything heart related but vr is like a family to me that I can vent to and ask questions too.

Rls

Rls

I had never heard of restless leg syndrome? my 4 year old occasionally wakes up crying that his foot hurts, it is always his right foot up until now i thought perhaps it was just that his foot had fallen asleep... could this be RLS? he really appears to be in pain for some time...

Erica, I haven't been around much this past 5 days because of work and other responsibilities so I missed your post. I'm so sorry to hear that you are feeling crumby. Hopefully the side-effects of the drug will be short lived and that you will adjust to them. Hang in there girl. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Erica,

My husband took Neurontin during a serious bout with shingles and meningitis. Although the drug helped his pain and tingling, it made him lethargic and angry.

Be careful ... have you seen a neurologist?

Best,
