Hello everyone. I have not posted for a while - sorry!
My valve surgery was done in Nov 01. At the same time I had RF ablation for AF. I have been seeing various cardiologists since that time as there were a few problems. Now I have a new consultant cardiologist and when I saw him last week he mentioned he heard a small leak. When I told him I knew about this and the other cardios had said "it often happens" "nothing to worry about" he made one of those faces as if to say he didn't agree. He did mention that it could be coming from between two stitches that were a bit wide. I'm having another echo tomorrow.
When I checked on all this on the Internet I got the impression that a small leak from the valve itself is less of a worry than a leak from around the edges where the valve was sewn in. Has anyone else experienced this, I.e. is it quite common? I had not given it any thought until I saw this new consultant but now I am a bit worried. In addition I have 2:1 block and paroxymsmal flutter and AF(although I always seem to be in SR when they do ECGs) and a dual chamber PM. Sorry its so long, just wanted some comments - please. Diana
