I'm one week PS, got home last Fri, so one week tomorrow. I tried the first day to lay down, but only lasted 1 1/2 hrs then, before having to get up, because of the discomfort, and being startled.

Last 2 days, I extended that time out to a few hours, before having to get up and sleep on the Lazy Boy, due to pain and discomfort.

Well, last night, I was able to sleep the entire night in the bed, with a piss break in between. I slept about 7 on my back, and just for the hell of it, I ended up with about an hour on my right side. If I didn't have this extreme pain in my left shoulder blade, I'd be much more mobile.

I'm so happy about this mild milestone, becuase after the last surgery 3 years ago, I slept in the Lazy Boy for about 2 months, and I never got any sleep at night longer than 2-3 hours without any sleep medication.

Now, I'm sleeping in the bed after 1 week, and I'm not taking any sleep meds!! I'm sure there will be days that I will have to get up and finish sleeping in the Lazy Boy, but for now, I'm glad for this small step forward!!

aaahhh, the ways we have to measure recovery! joking aside, congrats, it took me a few weeks and I was a fast recoverer

Ya, first the tube out of your throat, then ice chips, ice chips without vomiting, walking, and now, sleeping.. Baby steps.

Sorry to hear that Ross.. No biting allowed though, lol.

I slept again in the bed last night, though it wasn't as solid a sleep as the night before.

I can't sleep on my back either, just too uncomfortable. Right after my AVR I slept with body pillows all around me. That sure helped.

That is great news Harry! It was months before I could sleep on my back for any prolong period of time.
