Hi,

Looking for any advice and to stop me worrying basically....Aortic valve replacement dec 2007, now have mechanical valve - currently on 12mg warfrain daily. For the last week have had horrendous headache , right side of my head, temple, above ear, in addition numbeness round my cheek bone as if i've been punched (which i havent). Tried parcetamol which didnt touch it , saw doctor who prescribed codeine - gave me horrendous chest pains so stopped taking that , have been taking co-codamol now - does take the edge off of it but still hasnt gone away. Back to gp who has now prescribed me tramadol - loathe to take this due to documented interactions with warfarin.
Should i just take it or should i be more worried, dont normally suffer from headaches - this has now been a week, have not hit my head ???? At my wits end ;O(

I would be requesting an MRI or CT scan. Best wishes.

Amen to the above.

Dr. Oz (a Heart Surgeon from New York) has a new medical TV program.

He recently stated that a Brain Bleed can cause the Worst Headache you've Ever Had
and recommended getting to an ER immediately.
