Well, seven months today and had an echo and my appt with Peter Skillington. He was very happy with me. Pre surgery my aortic valve was 0.6cm. With my pulmonary valve now in that spot, the valve room is 2.1cm, so he said the blood was flowing through very well.:D
My heart is also coping well with the 'tying off' of my anomalous right coronary artery (a very rare congenital condition they only recently discovered).
So he said that I will still be a bit tired from time to time as life returns to normal but that physically my body has recovered. He says that emotionally it's a good six to nine, even 12 months for everybody, and we should remember that.
He's a caring surgeon. I was very lucky to have him.
He wants to see me in six months and continue seeing me for a long time as he keeps an eye on all his Ross patients. He says the Ross Procedure is still losing favour overseas but he is very happy with his results. He has done more than 200 in the past 19 years and has only had to reoperate once (as well as replace a couple of pulmonary valves).
So ... that' s my update ... I'm very lucky to have had a condition that could be fixed.
And hang in there everybody who's waiting for surgery. It happens and then it's over and life goes on ...:)

Hi Allisoninoz,

Good to see you are doing well. I read your previous posts and the article you wrote. Very infomational and prepared me well for the surgery I had few weeks back.
