I remember Sept 11, 2001 was such a picture-perfect day -- cloudless and beautiful. Then the atrocious attack on our country began. At that time, I was working in Arlington, Va., just a few miles from the Pentagon. Drove by the Pentagon every day. On that day of infamy, I happened to be working at home. I could have been one of the casualties -- as it was, friends and neighbors were killed.
I remember the eerie feeling of our country being under attack; of that additional hijacked plane still being in the air and on the way to hit the U.S. Capitol or the White House. This was war against America.
I am not going to inject politics, but we should never forget. We should never take our freedoms for granted.
May God bless America.
