Hi Everyone!
A friend of mine has me talking with a friend of hers that is having heart surgery at Cleveland. It seems that she is going to have a Septal Myectomy with a Mitral Valve Repair sometime later this summer. She has a congenital defect that both her father and a cousin have died from. She is a 40 year old female with 2 young children, 2 & 4. She lives in Ohio. I was wondering if anyone had any information on the procedure she is going to have. She said her surgery is going to be done by one of three surgeons at Cleveland; Dr. Lytle, Dr. Smedira or Dr. Gillinov. Is anyone here familiar with any of them? Right now her cardiologist is Dr. Lever. Dr. Lever is supposed to be one of the top cardiologists familiar with her type of defect. I told her I would check and see if any of you knew much about the procedure or the doctors. Thanks for any information you can give me so I can pass on to her.

Take Care!
Gail

Gail - You can go to the search at the top of the page and type in the doctor's name. I checked and all three have references. The actual words come up in red, so it is easy to find the name. The one for Lever was a bit more difficult, since the search also finds the word "lever". But please look at the post by Ben Smith, Dr lever is mentioned.
