YOU KNOW YOU ARE IN SOUTH CAROLINA IN JULY WHEN. . . .

The birds have to use potholders to pull worms out of the ground.
The best parking place is determined by shade instead of distance.
Hot water now comes out of both taps.
You can make sun tea instantly.
You learn that a seat belt buckle makes a pretty good branding iron.
The temperature drops below 95 and you feel a little chilly.
You discover that in July it only takes 2 fingers to steer your car.
You discover that you can get sunburned through your car window.
You actually burn your hand opening the car door.
You break into a sweat the instant you step outside at 7:30 a.m.
Your biggest bicycle wreck fear is, 'What if I get knocked out and end up lying on the pavement and cook to death?'
You realize that asphalt has a liquid state.
The potatoes cook underground, so all you have to do is pull one out and add butter, salt and pepper.
Farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying boiled eggs.
The cows are producing evaporated milk.

Ah, what a place to call home. . God Bless Our State of SOUTH CAROLINA

I guess it's easier to make banana pudding in that climate.

You didn't mention the sand on the beach. We've almost burned off the soles of our feet there!

You bring back memories of when we lived in the tropics... We only owned summer clothes. It only ever rained in the "wet" season (winter) guarranteed! None of those days when it was too cold to get out of bed ever!...and best of all...We had 3 mango trees in our backyard full of fruit...yumyum!!

Ok..now I want to move back to Darwin!

I thought this is Florida! If your car seat has plastic covers, you simply dare not get in the car wearing shorts. You get blisters on the backs of your legs - for real! T'other da I couldn't turn on the key because the keyhole was too hot!!!! for real, again. Sho is hot where we live. Cooler down in Miami in summers than here.

Georgia is having some hot days right now, too. Temperature on McDonalds sign I drove by yesterday read 104. Our pool water is at 91 in the evenings. Our electric bill(we are all electric) is ridiculous. I love summer but I am always ready for winter when it gets here, then I can complain about how cold it is.

While we are chatting about the weather in the southern states...I have to ask the locals...is it classed as tropical?...with only the wet and dry seasons and very high humidity all year round? or is it just plain HOT!? in the summer months.

We hit 105 today, humidity is not too bad. We have had 38 days of temps at 100 or higher. This is the hottest summer that I can remember since we moved to Texas in 1985, that summer, it was over 100 for the first 2 months or so.

hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

South Florida is tropical. With all the tropical fruits, flowers, etc. It's very humid. Shorts in winter, we never even had heat in our house. when it got really cold we had a portable kerosene heater we'd drag out and run it for an hour. Even hotels and schools didn't have heating in them. Swimming all year round. It it got down to 50 (very rare) our schools closed. South Florida is just like Hawaii.

My family is from SC and I go there often to see them. I love it there. I have not seen them since May this year, but they understand.

my grandparents said they would like for it to rain beause they still have a farm and the heat is just CRAZY.

Aja

I spent last weekend in Erie PA, at Presque Isle State Park. It was 68 degrees in the morning, with highs around 82. Next year I'm taking sweatsuits for those chilly mornings, but all in all it was lovely.

Now, back our regularly scheduled 104.
