The Editor of our Weekly Newspaper..Age 45..wonderful Female who was involved in many Community Clubs, ect. Brought Many rewards to our newspaper, ect..died of a Heart Attack on the way home Sat.from a meeting she had just attended . She was driving and laughing and fell over on steering wheel..Passenger said..she was able to control the car and call 911. Was pronounced dead at local hospital. I had just been in our pool with her on Friday. Our town is so sad.......Now, as I was leaving pool..a friend told me..Tom Sawyer was found dead this morning. I was in total shock..Tom and Hubby were best friends. Tom was a single man ..who lost 4 children.Due to Car accidents, ect..was so outgoing...He opened the Funnel Cake shop at 4 A.M. so all owners of stores could come in for coffee. Stayed until noon..where then he went to gym for workout. He was in the best shape for his age..60.... He loved to row on local lake, walk the entire town of Helen at 5 A.M. 8 times.. around..Took many vitamins, ect..Lived alone..so sad....Our town is now looking for closest relative. He told me once, he had a daughter in Washington State...We don't know how he died..Will probably find out tomorrow...Was it the heat?... Was he rowing on Lake yesterday...Did he just overdo his exercise..that he loved?Saw him a few weeks ago.And still very outgoing, ect...Hubby is very sad tonight.Bonnie

Hi Bonnie,

There was once an old saying......."only the good die young". May they rest in peace. So sorry to hear :(

Big hugs from me, along with condolences. I thought last year was bad, but so far, this year has been worse for everyone I know. :(

Oh, Bonnie. I'm so sorry. We have lost a few dear friends in the last few years and how it hurts! I'm not going to work today at all. We were warned of possibly getting up to 105 today and I do not work in an air conditioned environment. I reminded my husband too to really warn all our employees to work smart in this heat. Hubby has been researching those giant outdoor mist fans and may get one or two and set up cooling-off areas before next summer. The crews all have plenty of fluids with them (not beer!) out on job sites as well as air-conditioned vehicles and we've got coolers set around the display center with little bottles of water. We may have to do even more, I'm just not sure. In the winter we close the models when there is an ice problem but that is an immediate danger whereas this isn't. I'm sorry for getting off track here but your post just brought to mind how life is so tenuous and I don't want anything to happen to people I really care about. God bless you and comfort you and your hubby too.

Bonnie, Sorry to hear about your losses. I will be saying a prayer for you and the families.
