Hey y'all. I'm home!!! 53 hours total in the hospital. Actually, it seemed like it was hundreds of hours while I was there but the memory is already starting to blur. Over the next few days I may post a more detailed story of what I recall... or I may not. Bottom line, I am home, I'm alive and I am SO VERY VERY HAPPY TO BE ON THE ROAD TO RECOVERY!!! I cannot say thank you enough to the support I received at vr.com. Vr.com prepared me for almost everything I encountered in the procedure. Now I need to pay attention and follow the advice from those who have successfully recovered and are now full gear back in to life.

OOPS... my wife just corrected me. It was 3 and 1/2 days in the hospital. Not 2 and 1/2. Regardless, it's over and I am very happy to be home.

PS: I cannot hear my valve click. One of the nurses let me use her stethoscope that had an amplification feature... still could not hear it even when I had the dial turned up all the way.

Amazing! Glad things are going really well for you. Take care and take it easy while you fully recover.

Congrats and best wishes for a speedy recover. I am amazed they let you escape on day 4 !

All right! Give those kids a hug from all of us here at VR.com. Well done, you made it over the mountain.

All the best, Betsy

Wow, that was fast!!! Be careful and do everything they've told you in the post-op insturctions. Breathe in the toy all the time so you can get your lungs cleared out, and sleep alot this first week, your body needs it. Glad to hear all went well! Take care Debbie

WOW! Welcome Home!
3 and 1/2 or 2 and 1/2 - either one sounds great! hope your recovery continues to go along smoothly!

All the best to you and your family!

So glad to hear that you are home and doing well! I have found this site just as helpful post-op as I did before surgery so don't hesitate to ask questions....my prayers are with you and your family for a continued speedy, smooth recovery! Take care!

There's no place like home. Make sure to keep motion in your day, but don't try to push the recovery by overachieving. It usually backfires. And don't go back to work too early.

Best wishes,
