Hi everybody, this is Ryan's wife. We have free wifi here at the hospital, so I thought I'd kill some time.

Ryan's surgery went perfectly. We got to see him immediately after he got out, but won't be able to see him again til the next visiting hours. He got a repair, not a replacement and the doctor was very pleased by how well it went.

Anyways, I'll probably have lots of free time til he gets out of ICU, so I'll keep you guys updated.

but won't be able to see him again til the next visiting hours.

Thanks for letting us know Ryan's wife. Thats great news.
But what do you mean you won't be able to see him????? Are unable to see him in ICU???
My other half was able to see me at anytime, in ICU or otherwise - there were no "hours" to be had. My family even stayed hours after regular visiting hours were over.

Please tell me I'm mistaken.

Take Care of ones self, and tell Ryan we're thinking of him.

Our ICU has visiting hours every two hours for half an hour at a time. Only two visitors at a time. The nurses explained that since they bring people straight from surgery to ICU, with no recovery room in between, they can't be fighting over crowds to get patients the care they need.

I don't complain about this, because I know patients in the ICU need lots of rest and quiet. I can tell with Ryan that he's exhausted after us visiting him for only a few minutes. They get people out of ICU pretty quickly here. If everything goes well, he'll be out of ICU tomorrow morning and in a regular room, where we have unlimited visiting.

Also, the surgical ICU is different than the Cardiac ICU. The cardiac ICU has no visiting restrictions. Just the people they aren't sure if they are stable or not.

Brilliant news, hope ryan as a smooth speedy recovery. All the best.

a repair. that's really good news. let him know that we're leavin the light on for him. And remind him not to sneeze for a couple months.

Thanks for checking in to give us the good news. Blessins...........

He's in a room! Ryan moved to a private room today at 3:30. We're so proud of him.

Fantastic!

Fantastic!

I Repair Is Great! I Will Be Praying For A Quick Recovery For Him.

I Am In Buford, Ga. What Hospital Are You In? I'll Be Going To St. Joseph's On 07-09 With Alan Wolfe. I Can Only Hope For A Repair But I Won't Get My Hopes Up Too High At All..

We're at St. Josephs as well, with Dr. Douglas Murphy. He's a wonderful, wonderful doctor and the hospital is absolutely stellar. I highly recommend it.
