I got a terrible cold. My nose and eyes are dripping. I just got off amoxycillin for a lung infection. I feel really fine and I am in good spirit. Exept for the runny nose and eyes. I think it is quite funny how I try to compat my sinus symptoms with a teatowl since everything else is just to small.
My INR is still tested every 10 days. My INR level is so unstable and I tend to higher my dose month after month. I am aware that the Doctors who test me are ill informed about Warfarin, however since I am mostly to low 1.9 - 2.4 I agree with taking a higher dose. My last test showed 3.1 and I feel the amoxycillin helped to push the INR reading up. Of course the Doctor asked me to lower the dose for this week and see him again. I am 11 month on Warfarin, and still I am not there yet. How long did it took you to get to your right dose?
What are you taking to stop a runny nose and eyes? The pharmasists I saw do not want to give me anything not even a Nasal spray to stop this symptoms. I am not on any medication exept for Warfarin.
ANy suggestions? Home remedies? Any thing?
Thanks

If you can get Benedryl there, it will work just fine and not affect your heart. Otherwise, cider vinegar mixed with honey will help some.
Do not lower your warfarin dose for a 3.1, especially just after a antibiotic. The anitbiotic probably helped to increase your INR and, if you stop it and lower your warfarin, your INR will drop like a rock.

I think that three months is excessive for getting someone into range. I am embarassed if I can't do it quicker than that.

We just had a thread about a stuffy nose and how hard it is to open it up. I think that it is even harder to get something that will stop a runny nose.

Hmmm.....2 shots of good whiskey, Tablespoon lemon juice,2 shots of Honey to taste...heat to 120-140F...Drink Quickly. somehow it knows whether or not your stopped up or dripping....

It need not even be good whisky, since you probably can't taste very well anyhow.

I am flat on my back and my nose is still running but my eyes are dry. I would love a stiff drink. I found a Pharmasist who supplied me with Clarinase. He told me that it will not interfere with the Warfarin or my Heart valve. My INR level will be tested next week. I will see what it did to me. He did recommened not to drink alcohol while I am taking Clarinase.
I am hardly ever drink but somehow I long for a drunken oblivion. Thanks for your replies.
